About EFT

In this age of technology, electronic funds transfers have become more and more common and convenient. Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) provides for electronic payments and collections.

EFT is safe, secure, efficient, and less expensive than paper check payments and collections.

This convenient method of making contributions through automatic electronic deductions from your savings or checking account or credit card will establish a consistent and orderly tithing arrangement towards your financial stewardship as a parishioner for the important ministries at Saint Vincent de Paul Church.

To use EFT, a written Registration and Authorization Form is required to collect money from your account for the amount of the payment. This form is located on the last page of this brochure.

To enroll in the program, please fill out and detach the Registration and Authorization Form in this brochure and; bring it/mail it to the Parish Office in an envelope. You are also asked to provide a voided check or deposit slip to verify your financial institution routing number and your account number information. You should keep a copy of the written Authorization Form for your records. (Forms are available online. Visit the church website: www.svdphb.org and click on EFT.)

How It Works

On your written predetermined date (on Registration Form), Saint Vincent de Paul Church will instruct your financial institution to deduct the amount due from your account. Your financial institution then withdraws that amount and forwards it electronically to our church for credit to its account. The payment will be shown on your monthly account statement from your financial institution. The statement will indicate the payment date, the amount, and that SVDP received it. You will also receive e-mail notification.

Questions People Ask

  1. With EFT Payment, can SVDP obtain confidential information about me?
No. Only the information on the written Registration and Authorization Form you signed to begin the EFT process is available to SVDP. We do not have access to your account balance or any other information about you that is maintained by your financial institution.
  2. Why must I send a voided check when I sign up for EFT?
We need a check to obtain accurate information regarding the financial institution and customer account number in order to collect the payment electronically.
  3. Can I stop payment or cancel enrollment?
Yes. Simply inform Saint Vincent de Paul Church that you want to stop a payment. If you want to discontinue your enrollment in the EFT program, please contact the Church in writing. In general, revocation notices should be submitted at least one billing cycle prior to the desired date of termination.
  4. Is electronic contribution risky?
Electronic contribution is less risky than check contribution. It cannot be lost, stolen or destroyed in the mail. It has an extremely high rate of accuracy.
  5. What if I change bank accounts?
Notify us and we will give you a new Registration and Authorization Form to complete.
  6. How do I change the amount of my contribution?
Complete a new written Registration and Authorization Form and return it to the Parish Office.
  7. How much does EFT cost?
It costs you nothing and saves you time.
  8. Is there a risk of identity theft?
No. The information you give us will be securely stored and will not be shared. As an additional measure of security, personal info such as Social Security number, mother’s maiden name, etc. is not requested.
  9. Can I still put something in the collection basket?
In order to give witness to financial stewardship, parishioners can still drop an empty Sunday Offering envelope into the collection basket. They should mark“EFT” on it.
  10. Who do I call if I have questions?
You can contact the Parish Manager, Patty Ledezma or the Finance Manager, Rose Clarke, at (714) 842-3000 or svdp@svdphb.org
