First Holy Communion

First Eucharist is a two year process beginning in the 1st grade. The preparation includes coming to know Jesus through prayer, liturgy and retreats.

First Holy Communion preparation classes for children 1st Grade through 5th Grade meet on:

Mondays 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM (1st - 5th Grade)
Mondays 6:30 PM - 8 PM (1st - 4th Grade)
Mondays 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM (5th - 8th Grade)
Tuesdays 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM (1st - 5th Grade)

October 19, 2011

Parent Night in the Parish Hall at 6:30 PM - MANDATORY

November 5, 2011 Jesus and Me Retreat (for students in 1st-5th Grade) from 10 AM until 3 PM at the Heart of Jesus Retreat Center in Santa Ana. $20 per student.
March 5, 2012 N.E.T. Retreat (for students in 6th-8th Grade) from 5 PM until 8:30 PM in the Parish Hall. $30 per student.

May 5, 2012 First Eucharist Retreat from 10 AM until 3 PM at the Heart of Jesus Retreat Center in Santa Ana. The cost is $40 for child and one parent and lunch is provided.
May 9, 2012 First Eucharist Rehearsal at 5:30 PM in the Church
May 17, 2012 Second First Eucharist Rehearsal at 5:30 PM in the Church
May 19, 2012 First Eucharist Mass at 10 AM in the Church. Children need to be in the Parish Hall by 9 AM.
 
Appropriate Dress for First Eucharist
Girls
White dress and white shoes. Veils, mantillas, or flower wreaths may be worn. Dresses must be at least mid-knee in length. Dresses must have sleeves. Your child must wear an under-slip with dress. Shoes must be low heel pumps or flats. Please no sheer outfits, no backless, strapless or low cut dresses and no tight form fitting clothing. No pierced body parts except for ears.
Boys
Wear long dress pants, dress shoes, shirt and tie. No sports shoes/tennis shoes, please. Pants may be navy blue, brown, black, gray, beige or white. Shirts may be white or pastel. Suit or sports coat is optional. Ties should coordinate with pants and shoes.
No gloves, purses, flowers, rosaries, prayer books or candles may be carried in the procession please. No picture taking during Mass.
