Fellowship and Service

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international organization of lay Catholic men and women who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to individuals in need.  The Society has two aims: to do spiritual good for its members through the exercise of charity, and to do spiritual and temporal good for the poor in the name of Jesus Christ.

The Society was founded by Frederic Ozanam in Paris, France in 1833 and was named after St. Vincent de Paul (1581-1660), a Catholic priest, known as the “The Apostle of Charity” and “Father of the Poor.”

The parish Conference is the basic unit of the Society.  All members are volunteers, are called Vincentians, and strive toward increased spiritual growth through acts of charity by visiting families and the homeless providing them with financial assistance, food and groceries, household necessities, medicines, and other special needs.  People contact the Conference with their requests.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament means the Eucharistic Body of Christ is visible for adoration, rather than simply being adored while in the Tabernacle. Members commit to praying for at least one hour per week before the Blessed Sacrament in the parish Blessed Sacrament Chapel. All parishioners are encouraged to stop by the Blessed Sacrament Tower Chapel for a visit with Our Lord. For information contact Steve Lovison at 714-943-1038 or lovison@adorationservants.org

If you plan to visit during the late night or early morning hours, you must register at the Parish Office in person with identification to receive the code to open the door.

Our members help to bring spiritual comfort, compassion, and liturgical guidance for funerals to the families of our parish at the time of the death of a loved one. For more information, please send an email to: nneilsen@socal.rr.com

The Legion of Mary is an extension of the heart and hands of Mary.
Under the mantle of the Blessed Virgin Mary, some of the ways the Legionaries encounter the face of Christ is by doing Jail Ministry, visitation of the sick in homes and hospitals, Faith Formation classes, convalescent homes and doing door-to-door evangelization.
The legionaries submit themselves to the working of the Holy Spirit while working hand-in-hand with Mary, our mother. To become a holier person and for the salvation of souls are the Legionaries goals. Come join us in our meetings Thursdays at 12:30 pm in Room 3.

Fr. Jerome is the founder and Chairman of the Board of Mercy House Transitional Living Centers which serves and houses homeless men, women and children in Orange County at its various facilities. Joseph House opened in 1990 to shelter single homeless men who are employed and who are welcomed to spend six months at the residence in order to save money and begin independent living.

Regina House opened in April 1994 for single homeless women and their children. The women and children likewise spend at least six months in the home during which time the women can save enough money, learn parenting and other skills in order to enhance their family lives.

• Mercy House Center opened in 1999 to provide immediate care for drop-in clients.

• Emmanuel House opened in the April 2001 to serve single homeless men and women living with HIV/AIDS.

• San Miguel Residence provides permanent affordable housing.
