Invitation to Spend an Hour with the Lord – Holy Thursday Chapel of Repose

On Holy Thursday, April 2, our parish will create a Chapel of Repose in the Parish Hall—a sacred space that symbolizes the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus invited His disciples to “watch and pray” with Him during His agony.

After the conclusion of the Holy Thursday Mass, the Blessed Sacrament will be transferred to this special chapel, where it will remain for quiet prayer and adoration until 8:00 AM on Good Friday.

This is a beautiful opportunity to enter more deeply into the mystery of Holy Week. The Chapel of Repose:

• Holds the Eucharist for adoration on Thursday night and for Communion on Good Friday (as no new Eucharist is consecrated that day).

• Represents Jesus' time in Gethsemane, inviting us to be spiritually present with Him.

• In some traditions also recalls the silence of the tomb, preparing our hearts for the Passion.

 Will you spend one hour with Our Lord?

We are inviting parishioners to commit to staying with Jesus in prayer for one hour, helping ensure that He is never left alone during this solemn night.

✨ Invitación a Pasar una Hora con el Señor – Capilla de Reposo del Jueves Santo ✨

El Jueves Santo, 2 de abril, nuestra parroquia preparará una Capilla de Reposo en el Salón Parroquial —un espacio sagrado que simboliza el Huerto de Getsemaní, donde Jesús invitó a sus discípulos a “velar y orar” con Él durante su agonía.

Al concluir la Misa de Jueves Santo, el Santísimo Sacramento será trasladado a esta capilla especial, donde permanecerá para la oración y adoración silenciosa hasta las 8:00 a.m. del Viernes Santo.

Esta es una oportunidad hermosa para adentrarnos más profundamente en el misterio de la Semana Santa. La Capilla de Reposo:

• Guarda la Eucaristía para la adoración del jueves por la noche y para la Comunión del Viernes Santo (ya que ese día no se consagra nueva Eucaristía).

• Representa el tiempo de Jesús en Getsemaní, invitándonos a estar espiritualmente presentes con Él.

• En algunas tradiciones también recuerda el silencio del sepulcro, preparando nuestro corazón para la Pasión.
